FPAC

The other weekend I had the opportunity to once again attend FPAC and cover it for BakitWhy. It was a long, but definitely a fun day with the team. There were a lot of great acts that performed and I even got a chance to meet J.R. Celski, the 2x bronze medal winner at the 2010 Winter Olympics in short track speed skating. He’s a pretty dope dude. FPAC also marked my first full year with BakitWhy! I can’t believe it’s been that long already.

F.A.P. 2.0

Super sorry about not having any updates for the past few weeks, I’ve been super busy with my PA Schools Apps and then my desktop died on me! Anyways, this past weekend I attended F.A.P. 2.o (Featured Acoustic Playlist) and help cover it for BakitWhy with Melly. The event was an amazing success with so many talented artists performing. I even got to see one of my new favorite singers perform live, Clara Chung. I also ended up helping my friend Steppie by setting up a impromptu photobooth at her vendor stand. It was a long day, but it was a fun one!

Full photobooth pics for The Steppie click here

The rest of my pics will be up on BakitWhy’s site shortly!

Side note… We went to 2 different Lolita’s for carne asada fries and they were both closed before 11:30 PM!

PAHM: Pilipino American History Month

Last night I covered UCI’s Kababayan Culture Club‘s PAHM (Pilipino American History Month) for BakitWhy, which has strong ties to UCI and Kababayan. The event as a whole was to celebrate the Filipino American lifestyle and culture which also included performances and a Q&A with AJ Rafael and Gabe Bondoc. Both artists are Filipino American and were asked what it was like to be such a well known artist on youtube and what it meant to them to be Filipino. After their Q&A,  UCI alumni Kristen Dela Cruz and the featured performers each took the stage with amazing sets. There was also a special appearance by JR Aquino who sang a duet with AJ. All in all, the packed house loved the performances and UCI’s Kababayan threw an amazing event.

Check out BakitWhy for more of the coverage of PAHM.

FPAC: Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture

So over the weekend my partner Melly Lee and I attended the 18th Annual Festival of Philippine Arts & Culture. We were there to cover the event as photographers for BakItWhy, a Filipino-American Lifestlye online community that recently added us to their group. The festival was a 2 day event to promote and spread the Filipino arts and culture, and to express it there were numerous amounts of artists, singers, & dancers to showcase. Among the talent acts included such names as: Kaba Modern, Pac Modern, Sheroes, Supreme Soul, Rex Navarrete, AJ Rafael, Geologic of Blue Scholars and many more.

I was only able to attend Day 1, so here are some shots.
