Kenya Dance

A few days ago I was invited to photograph a charity dance event, Kenya Dance, by the group Kenya Dream, an organization which raises money to renovate schools in Kenya and provide students with a better quality education. The event was being held at somewhere I was quite familiar with… UCI Bren Event’s Center! So of course I agreed to help. Some of the headliners of the event include previous contestant’s of America’s Best Dance Crew such as Quest Crew, Fanny Pak and the Beat Freaks. The show also included many of the best dance crews from all of California and was hosted by Yuri Tag (Kaba Modern) and RJ (Supreme Soul) and in the end it provided one heck of an evening!

Photos from the event can be found in my gallery here along with the Kenya Dream website which has links to more media coverage of the events, including other photos and videos.

On a side note, I forgot how much I hate indoor lighting with random multi-color ‘cool’ lighting… definitely does not help a photographer out… but it does make a black and white that more tasteful!

Christine and Stephen Teasers

So yesterday Melly and I shot the wedding of my co-worker, Christine, and her fiancée Stephen. They were the same couple we shot the engagement photos for a few months prior. It was a beautiful, but very hot day! However, the heat cooled a bit and gave us a great outdoor wedding in Seal Beach at the Old Ranch Country Club. Everyone involved with the wedding was a lot of fun to work with, meet and have fun with! Shout outs to the wedding planner, groom’s men, best man, bride’s maids and maid of honors you guys were really cool to be around with! Until Melly and I go through all the pictures, here are a few teasers from me!

P.S. This wedding notes the first wedding Melly and I have shot together under Alacrity Studios!
